It has a module framework. Each function of Netbeans comes from its modules. When you download the IDE it only comes with a few basic features especially if you want to develop an application using a language other than Java. Therefore for new features you need new modules. Wondering how you can get these modules? The answer is simple by downloading plugins. These plugins provide various modules and hence the features you require. They are available for free and can be downloaded from NerBeans official website.
